There are lots of website promotion services out there trying to help their clients’ sites/blogs with better exposure on the web. SEO article marketing is one of the methods used by many of them. It’s a kind of article writing and distributing that aims at increasing the link popularity of the clients.

What Is SEO Article Marketing?

Many of you are quite familiar with article marketing as it’s been widely talked about among website promotion service providers for quite some time. It’s not a new phenomenon. The relatively new part of it is the combination of search engine optimization skill before, during and after the actual process of article writing. I explain it a bit more here now:

Before a set of articles are written for a client by his/her website promotion service provider, there will be a set of keywords required. They will make a list of key phrases that the client’s potential visitors or customers use while searching for them in Google, Yahoo, Bing or other search engines. When they are discovered, the author should be given a task of writing the content using them as the core of what he/she creates.

The article is written and optimized as explained. Then, as traditionally done, the next step will be to circulate them. They are not supposed to be published at the site/blog of the clients. On the contrary, they must be distributed among other sites that are called article directories. They have a categorized list of various topics and enlist your article in its due category. Other directories, blogs, sites, etc may get interested in whatever the content is. So, there will be more distribution.

More Role Played by Website Promotion Services

Many stop at this stage and call it a completed job while specialized search engine optimization companies or specialists continue their works in different ways. Some distribute the articles more widely among article directories using legitimate the methods offered by some companies who can reach out more audience for your content. Some bookmark your content to social media to make sure more people read your content.

Social media is a very broad term covering a whole range of sites that help you publish, bookmark and distribute your content. Even if website promotion services don’t provide more than this service, you can introduce your new content from your facebook page, twitter account, etc to the groups, forums, clubs, etc you’ve created or joined across the web to build a larger group of audience for it. Those who like it will link to it and help search engines pick up more backlinks for your search engine ranking score.

So, as you can see, website promotion services can add a lot of value to the content traditionally used to be created for clients. SEO article marketing is a great way of facilitating search engines access to your site/blog.

A marketing strategy refers to the means by which companies try to increase their sales and achieve a competitive advantage, focusing mainly on the satisfaction of their customers. Internet marketing makes use of one of the several business models to market goods or services. It includes the display of banner advertisements on websites, email marketing as also and search engine marketing.

An Internet marketing plan begins with online market research. During this phase, the companies research the market and find who their competitors are. They determine the section of their customers, which is to be targeted. The second phase of web marketing is known as data analysis in which the companies need to analyze market data and explore what their customers want. Next is the very important phase of developing a marketing strategy wherein the marketers choose a marketing method. The last phase of web marketing is the implementation of the strategy and the monitoring of its functioning.

It is advisable to start business marketing with a web promotion and development plan. It is important to get ranked on major search engines, for which it is essential to implement good search engine optimization techniques.

Marketing through emails, blogs, podcasts and forums can prove being an effective Internet marketing strategy. Blogs and forums can help the companies interact with their customers. Email marketing serves as an effective tool for marketing to a wide range of consumers. Running contests on websites is one of the best ways of web marketing. Online press releases and articles about the launch of the new products and services introduce the target customers to them.

Purchasing advertising and participating in forums are some of the short term marketing strategies while email opt-in lists, article marketing and application of social networking and social bookmarking methods are some of the long term Internet marketing strategies.

A well-targeted and responsive opt-in list is the key to Internet marketing as it enables the marketers to build relationships with their customer base. Article marketing is an advertising technique wherein short articles related to the business are published. Websites, which are known as article directories allow authors to post articles without charges. Articles can be used for search engine optimization by targeting frequently searched keywords. The promotion of articles through social networking sites is known as viral marketing. It makes use of social networks to increase brand awareness. Viral marketing leads people to spread the marketing message voluntarily.

Internet marketing is a relatively new avenue for businesses to achieve their marketing objectives. An effective use of the Internet can result in successful marketing as the Internet covers a wide range of audiences. Moreover, online marketing achieves a speedy spread of information, thus fetching for the marketers, quick success. As such, the “do-it-yourself” internet marketing business plans are good to start off with. But, in the case of moderate to big businesses, the most plausible idea would be to hire a firm that could handle the Internet marketing on their behalf. As usual, I am going to start off with a case study:

Let us now, see how to set up an Internet Marketing Business.
First and foremost, it is imperative for anyone desirous to start this business, to have a good idea about several marketing strategies. It is vital to stay up to date with the latest case studies, take overs, and other similar activities. They may not all be Internet related, but they are, nonetheless, required to get an understanding of the market and its components.

Now we come to the starting points, I like to call them “Engine notes”.

The most exciting part for any businessman’s effort towards getting sales is knowing that people are interested about his products and services. This only tells about the positive results his marketing ventures are giving. These interests are in the form of unending inquiries about the products; people are giving their contact numbers and other information so you will return their calls and inquiries with clear answers. You are about to close a lot of sales!

How will e-business people experience such? This is called sales leads, scenarios that says, build lists now for further sales and contact these people now so they’ll buy. How will you be able to generate these leads? Well, successful entrepreneurs are equipped as to how. One of the techniques you can use is email marketing. A lot claimed success with internet marketing and there are also those who said they failed.

Your email is your winning tool in your email marketing ventures. A well written email will give you the desired sales leads. However, it should be carefully planned beforehand. Here’s how you can do it:

Make Informative Email Contents. This is very basic. Inform your customers about the product. You are not mailing them just to make a sale but you also have to sound helpful by letting them aware of existing conditions affecting them and that there is a product that will be a best solution for their current problems. This is the avenue where you can tell your customers that there is a company willing to help them. Thus, make sure to unfold all the benefits that the product can give them.

Be Factual. This can be manifested in your letter by giving them only verified facts and everything you will tell them must only bear 100% truthfulness. If you include testimonials, make sure these people can be contacted just in case the customer will verify the information by themselves. Clerical errors should have no room in your email content especially if these are figures expressing facts. When presenting the email, the tone is not compulsive but it should sound like you are leaving everything for the customer to decide and that you are just supplying them evidences as to how useful and effective the product is.

Draft Excellent Subject Line. This is the most important consideration in email marketing. From the subject line alone, you are driving your customers to read or not to read the email. The subject line can be a single statement that is in a very enticing and thought provoking form.

Be Simply. Simplicity of your email is shown on how you manipulated the text, the images and overall layout of the letter. It should be less ornamental and has quality content. Simple words must be used and make sure the fonts are reader friendly and suited to the personality of your readers. Being simple in content also means brevity. Do not overload your readers with information that you think is less helpful.

In our previous post, we explained to you that the right use of email marketing can be very beneficial to gain new and current customers with possible return on investment (ROI) of .63. Yet, before indulging in discussing how these figures can be achieved, we need to explain you some risks that have to be avoided. They include:

Email Spamming – It is also known as unsolicited bulk email or junk e-mail. This involves sending many copies of the same message to a list of recipients that are not opt-in to receive them. That is why, in Mail Ant, we do not allow using purchased mailing lists.

There are many providers on the market who tell you that they have double opt-in mailing lists where recipients would love to hear from you and to receive your offers and discounts. This is just not the case. Think of it this way! Will you allow your email address to be sold off to many companies or marketing agencies so you can receive annoying promotional emails?

I don’t think so. That is why; those lists are not permitted in our email marketing system. We do not want you to go on the suicidal pass of damaging your brand. Would you like to be viewed as a spammer?

Probably not, in the same, way we would like to keep our system to be squeaky clean from huge amounts of spam reports and keep our perfect standing with ISPs like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc. By keeping our system from spam, you are helping yourself because your emails are going to be delivered and not blocked or placed in a spam folder. Therefore, we recommend naturally built mailing lists.

Even double opt-in lists will get occasionally marked as a spam since some people will do it as an easy way to opt-out. For this reason, you should expect a small amount of recipients to tag you as a spammer which will be fine for you. One thing that you have to worry about is an accusation that brands you as a spammer.

Burning the list – People may subscribe to your mailing list. However, if you will send information that people did not subscribe, send emails too often and/or send bad content, you will definitely get burnt. What I mean by that is that your email list will shrink in matter of days since people will opt-out and may mark your email as a spam. You definitely do not want to lose your naturally built mailing list and create a bad rep.

You should create an email marketing strategy that specifies what type of emails is going to be sent and at what intervals. Make sure that people receive information that they are subscribed to (and nothing more otherwise you will get in trouble) and make sure that you send only high quality materials. It does not matter if they are sales letters, a catalog, a discount offer or educational articles, everything should be prepared to present and sell your Brand and products. You must make sure that emails sent by you are interesting.

Legal Requirements – There are certain legal requirements that have to be followed when sending commercial emails. There are strict anti spam laws around the world. For example, in Australia, it is Australian Anti Spam Act 2003 and in USA it is Can-Spam Act 2003. Each country has its own regulations. For this reason, you need to make sure that you are aware of and follow them.

Capturing your prospect’s attention is an essential first step.  Your email campaign leads someone to either join your newsletter, download a demo, or clicking through to a sale.  In essence, you are using your campaigns to motivate to a desired action, always resulting in a further purchase or future communication.

2.    Nurturing Relationships – The long and winding road to success.  Creating loyalty and trust, where none exists, sounds like a job for Superman.  Unfortunately, there is no quick fix, or magical formula, that will ever take the place of good old-fashioned hard work and research.  Finding out what your clients and prospects want and giving it to them may sound like a simple answer, but it is not.  You need to see what your competitors are talking about, research the social media sites with your specific keywords and phrases, getting the most recent chatter that you will need to help implement a relevant and valuable email marketing campaign.

3.    Trust Takes Time.  Build and They will come. Building trust cannot be overemphasized.  It remains and continues to be a major key ingredient when looking to establish long lasting customer relationships.  When sending out promotional emails, you are sending out a bit of yourself.  A promotional email does not automatically create trust.  When a prospect decides to take a chance on your product or service, what they experience in that process, can be the sole dividing factor.  How they are treated, how quickly their questions are answered, and the quality of service and feedback they receive, will result in a positive or negative conclusion, in their minds.

If your call to action is to acquire email opt-ins to your newsletter, then you want to make sure you do not use their emails to bombard them with offers and sales.  Do not use their trust to send your prospects gimmicks and hype.  That will lead you down a path towards the label of spamming.  You rarely get a second chance to make a good first impression.  Send them a thank you with a gift.  Everyone loves a valuable tip, especially in a bad economy.

Whatever email marketing strategy or vehicle you use, remember this one important rule.  Never promise more than you deliver and always stand by your word.  You have worked so hard to gain their trust, which can easily be lost overnight.  If possible, give more than they expected.  Create a positive viral campaign with your integrity and honesty.  That is a time-honored principle by anyone’s standards.
