The advent of social networking and video distribution have had a huge impact on internet marketing. In this article I\’m going to share 3 different ways to move forward with promoting your website so you can increase your traffic and your sales.

Signature Links [emails / forums / blog posts]

Believe it or not there really is a strong case for comments that you submit to forums and blogs that are tied to your market or website topic. At first you might wonder why you want to spend time submitting comments. There are several supporting reasons for engaging in this activity. First, forums and blogs are great places to network and learn from other internet marketers. The second point is that when you leave a comment with a signature then this gets picked up by Google and the other search engines. It helps if you take the time to pre-write your signatures. For instance you might have several sites or products that you’re promoting. You’ll then want to write up a signature that fits your product and embed the link in our signature. The signature is simply a catchy phrase or call to action to bring interest to your site or product. One extra step you can take to maximize this website promotion method is to collect the links from the blogs and forum posts. Next you take these links and create an rss feed. Once you completed these steps then you’ll want to submit the rss feed you created to www.feedping.com.

Yahoo Answers

If you can think of a site where people go to ask questions and get answers on just about any topic then that site would be Yahoo Answers. This site has been on the web for a few years now and has become a popular method to add to the website promotion tool chest. The fact is clear that there are a multitude of individuals who are looking for answers to their questions. Plenty of those questions are tied to internet marketing. You will want to explore the site to get a feel for the types of questions that are being asked and with a little bit of “brain picking” or research you’ll be able to provide answers. The answers you provide have real value. First, you’ve provided a service by providing the information requested. Second, you’ve begun the process of increasing your credibility as someone who is knowledgeable about the topic matter in question. Third, you have a ready audience who will be eager to respond to the links embedded in your signature. Just a note…you will have to setup a Yahoo account in order to post material in Yahoo Answers.

Ebooks and Reports

This last method of website promotion has been around for a long time but it’s still a powerful way to connect with your audience. Ebooks and reports [whether created by you or someone else] provide valuable content in form of information that your audience does not currently possess. The other big plus for ebooks and reports is that you can often get these for free with PLR or MRR rights through Giveaway events and through being a member of another internet marketer’s email list. If you’re creating an ebook or report you can do this cost effectively by using OpenOffice which is a clone of MS Office but with once subtle difference. Many ebook and report authors find this program to be more user friendly when creating and editing their work. Once you have created your ebook or report you will want to post your links in the final product. The links may be related to products and services that you are an affiliate of and some of the links will be your own. Once you have your ebook or report completed you can give them away for free at Giveaway programs [great list bulilder!], send them to your email list and post them on your website or blog.

One of my favorite ways of no cost web traffic building that works wonders, yet is often underestimated and overlooked, is using free online advertising sites. Can you use these sites to generate traffic, leads, and advertising to build your business? Absolutely. In fact, when I first got started with internet marketing and home business, I built an affiliate network of over 300 personally sponsored affiliates within a matter of weeks using NOTHING but attractive classified ads placed FREE on many high traffic sites.

What kind of website gets the best results with this method of free web traffic generation? Well, similar to traffic exchanges, classified advertising works very well for generating leads and sales through effective splash, lead capture, sales, and affiliate landing pages. But you can also generate traffic to any website, webpage, or blog that you choose. Because classified ads let you clearly target your audience, the traffic that is generated usually converts into leads and sales, as it has for me.

The KEYS to Successful Free Classified Ads…

Use The TOP Sites-The web holds 1000′s of free classified sites on the web, but only a percentage of them are worth your time. There are two things that you want to look for in a classified site.

1- Alexa Rank-Obviously the advertising sites that have the most traffic are going to provide the most free website visitors to you. Look for sites that get plenty of traffic, and stay away from the ones who have not yet built their sites up with a strong user base.

2- Page Rank-Classified ad sites that have higher PR will give you more return that low PR sites. Your ads can get listed by the search engines under any keywords you use in your ads, and higher PR sites get listed quicker and easier. And also, you can increase your link popularity through ongoing classified ads, and high PR sites give the best links and no cost website visitors.

Create Powerful Headlines- In reality, your headline will be the most important part of your entire ad. Why? Because unless it does what you need it to do, the rest of your ad cannot get its job done either. The headline essentially has two jobs; to target your audience and to get them to click on your ad. Use a benefit oriented approach, and immediately tell what problem you solve or what benefit you offer. Also, try to use exciting, attention grabbing words.

Talk About the Customer Benefits- Many people do not understand the keys to professional copy writing, but you can easily master the art of writing great ads with one simply technique. Always think in terms of the benefits that will be gained by your prospect from clicking on the link to your website, page, blog, or affiliate link. Remember, people are not interested in you, but they ARE definitely interested in what you have that can benefit THEM.

Tell People What to Do- It seems so simple that it can often be overlooked, but a simple call to action has been proven time and again to lead to more of whatever action you are trying to get. In the case of classified ads, you are trying to get the readers of your ad to click on your link to visit your site. So, tell them to do exactly that. “Click the link for more FREE info!” is a simple example of a call to action that can get more people to visit your site…. giving you more traffic.
