Search Engine Optimization Is the Key

There are three ways for a customer to get to your site. The
customers can type in your website address and directly come
to your site, only if they have your address. Naturally,
this will restrict your customers to the few who know you
already. The second method involves linking to your site
from another website. Though this is a great way of
generating traffic to your site it is subject to the
permission of other sites to let you post a link on their
site. And, unless you have sufficient traffic already coming
to your site, they may not want to be an affiliate. The
final method for a customer is to find your site through a
search engine.
A search engine is a tool that helps surfers to find
websites. Let us say, you type a keyword like tea kettle?
Immediately, the search engine will comb through the web and
find every page with the keyword tea kettle on it, and
present them in a ranked order. In order to enhance your
Online consumer education firm Powered added the Data & Insight PowerPack, a data and insight package that allows clients a deeper look into their course enrollees. In addition to creating and supporting courses for clients like Atkins and Epson, the PowerPack includes annual or bi-annual user surveys; in-content opinion polls; enrollment surveys; and an executive reporting mechanism to measure key performance indicators (KPI) based on marketing objectives.
The data informs the client how well the courses are reaching the registered audience, but also looks into the behaviors beyond the consumer education efforts. “Through user surveys, one large consumer electronics retailer discovered that more than 90 percent of course attendees qualified as their most valuable customer segment and that participation in online courses drives loyalty at a brand, not a product, level,” Powered CEO Dave Ellett said in a company statement.
What do a snowboard company founder, a pop star and graphic designer have in common? They’ve lent their names to Hewlett-Packard’s $300 million Print 2.0 marketing campaign.
Singer Gwen Stefani, Burton Snowboards’s Jake Burton and graphic designer Paula Scher are each featured on a separate HP Web site. Burton’s and Scher’s sites offer tips for small- and medium-sized businesses on how to build a brand, and of course, how to use printed materials to accomplish that. Stefani’s HP site, aimed at consumers, provides templates to create greeting cards and other materials.
A spokesman representing HP won’t disclose, at least for now, how much is allocated to online, television, or print ads. She says, in an e-mail, that the $300 million figure includes “not only advertising spending, but also spending on Web elements (e.g. the Gwen Stefani, Jake Burton and Paula Scher Web sites), in-store elements, alliances, etc.”
HP, in touting those alliances, says it wants to make it easier to publish from the Web to printed media such as photo albums. Yahoo’s Flickr, a photo sharing site, for instance, will incorporate HP technology, to create customized posters and other products.

Step Three - Site Structure
Developing the structure of your website is a very important step in its overall optimization. The site structure will dictate how the spiders read your site, what information they gather, what content holds the most weight, how much useless code they must weed through and more. You must structure your website to appeal to the visitor and the spiders.
It seems like a strange question to ask, but I’d really like to hear what you think. Let me explain a bit where I’m coming from first.
The twin mantras of transparency and authenticity are the backbone of the blogosphere. When it comes to PR practices like astroturfing, shill blogs, fake CEO avatars and the like, it’s fairly easy to call these things wrong and undesirable.

The New York Times has the story of 82-year-old marketing legend Stan Rapp’s project to build a digital marketing agency powerhouse through a series of small acquisitions in conjunction with private equity firm Halyard Capital. The first two agencies joining Halyard’s roster are Direct Impact in Austin and Ten United in Columbus, Ohio. The combined firm will be called Engauge, a vaguely surgical looking word that’s spelled that way to evoke accountability.
