I wish to give a few little tips, about optimizing. You may find it quite useful, depending on the type of website you have.

This is it; basically, when you optimize a website, you first want to enter at least 30 keywords into the ‘head’ of your web page. No problem there.

The next step in optimizing is that you must put each of your keywords into the text of your web page at least 4 times!

This is one area where your web page sinks or swims in the search engine ’spidering’ process. This is where one must get, er.. creative.

We’ve all seen those web pages that are about a mile long and so wordy, that you kind of loose track as to what the heck they are talking about. Well, optimizing is what that’s about. That and testimonials, which are a good thing to have, but most experts agree that you’ve got to get right down to the point and not loose your reader.

If this page is in a surf exchange, you’re expecting your viewer to read a mile long page in about 30 seconds. Trying to get all your key words into your ad text 4 times, can make it read a bit funny.

Google Adwords is a great tool! Careful use can lead to legions of highly targeted visitors breaching the moat around your site, and demanding to pillage your products! On the other hand…

Adwords is also a great place to drain your advertising dollars if you’re not careful. Like any other automated system, it requires constant feeding and attention to keep you from wondering just why you spent hundreds of dollars and received a paltry return on your investment. Here’s 7 great ways I’ve found to do just that, (and yes I’ve been guilty of several of these to one degree or another.)

1. - Not getting enough keywords, and I don’t mean just numbers. Good ones. A lot of people run a search on their favorite keyword tool and pick the top ten or twenty words or phrases getting the most traffic, thinking somehow that THEY will beat all the others using these keywords. There is a reason why these keywords are so popular: everybody and their grandmother are bidding on them! A much better approach is to come up with at least a couple hundred, better a couple thousand words that you have a shot at getting a high ranking for. After all, if you have 1800 keywords and can get a top 8 (first page) position for most of them, you’ll see a lot more clicks than you will chasing the top dollar words. If you get a hundred of the lower tier words giving you a couple of visitors a day, well, you do the math. Not only that, but often the less expensive words are altogether more specific, delivering far more targeted visitors.

A Review on Email Go Getter System (EGGS) by Martin Lee

EGGS is a new autoresponder system that I have started to use recently. The main difference between EGGS and other commercial autoresponders out there is that EGGS is hosted and run entirely on your own web server. This poses many benefits:

*There is no limit to the number of subscribers you can have. It all depends on the amount of web hosting space and bandwidth you have.

*EGGS is capable of sending approximately 200,000 mails in 2 hours, but it depends on the size of the message. The greater the size, the longer the time.

This is because their ip had been put on a ‘to filter off’ list. No such problems with EGGS as the email are sent from your own server. Of course, your email content must be clean as it might still be filtered off by spam filters.

Think Through Your Business Models

Free information and activities are present, but well thought out, revenue generating business models are also evident.

Lesson 1: Make your profit generators stand out.

MLB.com has a separate, prominent navigation menu for profit producing activities — MLB Shop, Tickets, Auctions, Subscriptions — which appears in the upper right on all pages, where potential paying customers cannot miss it.

There is so incredibly MUCH you can do to successfully promote your website starting in just a few minutes. In fact, the steps I will give you below can be repeated DAILY for 30 days, an hour a day, for 30 hours of hard-core, tested, proven, traffic-nabbing, sales-producing, profit-driving, marketers’ bliss.

It’s work, but by now I am hoping you know that the successful people, including me, have worked VERY hard to get where we are today. Online doesn’t mean automatic and there is no software that will promote your business hands-off. Lots of tools that help, but there’s no way around having to work to succeed in any online business.

That said, let’s get to work.

You could spend all 30 hours and much more this next month just getting reciprocal and, more importantly, NON-reciprocal links to your site.

I see so many people just spinning their wheels wondering where to start with their promotion. You don’t have TIME to sit and wonder! I am telling you right now that the only promotion tactic that will never EVER change on the internet, no matter what, is getting traffic through links.

Indulge me for a moment.

As visitors arrive at your site, regardless of the entry page, the first question in their minds is, "Am I in the right place? Will I find what I want here? Can I achieve what I want to achieve here?"

1. Email each visitor a satisfaction questionnaire after they purchase. This will allow you to improve your order system, customer service, site, etc.

2. Give a percentage of your profits to a cause your customers would like. It could be a charity, school, environmental improvements, etc.

3. Take harsh criticism the right way and improve your online business. Don’t get down in the dumps, improve the situation so it doesn’t happen again.

4. Try bartering before you buy services, supplies and equipment for your business. You can use the extra money you save on advertising your business.

5. Give away a follow-up email course on an auto- responder. Include your ad with each lesson. People will buy quicker when they see your ad repeatedly.

6. Make sure your classified ads don’t sound like an ad. Don’t ask people to buy anything or they won’t click, give something away instead.

After you have built your website the next natural step is to start promoting it. You can start with submitting your site to the various search engines and directories.

For those of you who either have a site now or are planning to have one in the future, you will of course want your site to be listed in the search engine index and directories.

You will thus need to decide if you want to submit your site to each individual search engine and directory by hand, pay a submission service to do it for you, buy site submission software, or use one of the free submission services on the internet.

Submitting to each individual search engine and directory by hand is relatively easy to do and yet can be time consuming and a bit tedious. If you decide to go this route, you just visit each site and look for the “Add URL” or “add website” link which is generally at the top or bottom of each site. Then simply click the button and add your website, using the full address or URL(Uniform Resource Locator). In certain instances you might have to add a title, description and other information. For the directories such as Yahoo and the DMOZ, you will be required to visit the relevant category first. Be thoughtful to select the right category. If you pay a submission service to do this for you they can save you a lot of time and will usually do a slightly better job with the keywords and descriptions based on their know-how.
